Your SIM can get suspended if the network flags unusual call patterns. Here's what to do, and why it's not a billing issue.
What you might be seeing
- Sudden "No service" or "SIM suspended" message
- Calls and texts stop working with no warning
- A message from us about unusual activity on your line
This usually means the network flagged your line for unusual call patterns — typically a quick burst of many calls in a short period. This isn't the same as a billing or eligibility issue.
What it doesn't mean
- It's not a problem with your health plan or your Lifeline benefit.
- It's not because you've done anything wrong on your account.
- It's not a permanent disconnect.
What we can do
Contact Thrive Mobile support. We'll:
- Confirm the suspension on our side.
- Ask you a few questions about what may have caused it (see below).
- Escalate to the network team to get the suspension lifted as quickly as possible.
Questions we'll ask
These help us figure out what happened so we can clear it with the network team:
- Have you installed any new apps recently?
- Did anyone else have your phone for a while?
- Have you noticed your phone calling numbers you didn't dial?
- Did you tap on any unusual links, ads, or pop-ups?
A common cause is a sketchy app that auto-dials in the background. If that's likely, we may walk you through removing it (see Stop pop-ups and unwanted ads) before reactivation.
What to expect
- Reactivation usually happens within a few hours once we escalate, but it can vary based on the network team.
- You keep your phone number through the process.
- Your account, plan, and balance are not affected.
How to prevent it from happening again
- Only install apps from the Play Store.
- Be careful with apps that ask for permission to make calls.
- If you let someone else use your phone, double-check what they did before handing it back.
- Your SIM is suspended and you don't know why
- You think a malicious app caused the suspension
- Your service hasn't come back within a day of contacting us
